Protect the air, water, and property values of Washington County

We, the undersigned, urge the Washington County Commissioners and EMC board members to protect our air, water, and property values by abandoning Plant Washington. Plant Washington involves risky financing that none of us can afford. It will pollute our air, and add dangerous mercury and other toxins to our water. We also oppose the closure and/or rerouting of the Mayview Road and Mathis Road. See proposed changes to Mayview and Mathis Roads.

Georgia has proven it can create jobs with renewable energy and conservation that benefit all Georgians, instead of sinking money in outdated technology. Rural Georgians should not, and will not, allow themselves to be exploited for the benefit of urban areas while leaving us with the health, environmental, and fiscal consequences of poor planning.
